The Irish Open which is hosted by Rory Foundation will take place for the very first time at Portstewart Golf Club from July 6th – 9th 2017.
After a remarkable 2016 championship at the K Club, Kildare where Rory McIlroy produced two unbelievable shots in the last three holes to secure his victory, the host will defend his title as the Irish Open will be in his country Northern Ireland for the third time in six years.
Set on Ulster’s stunning Causeway Coast, Portstewart features three 18-hole layouts, with the Des Giffin-designed Strand Course – which will host the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open – considered the jewel in the crown.
There will be activities available to the public in the Tented Village, there will be the Main Scoreboard, Big Screen, Show Stage, public catering outlets, Interactive zone, Official Merchandise Area, Interactive golf areas and Exhibitors.
With plenty of activities to do such as the Food Festival showcases, displaying the best local produce. Part of the NI Open Village will also include a range of exhibitors, live music, a bar and the Tournament Scoreboard. The Interactive Zone will offer free gold lessons that families can partake in and the chance to try your hand at Pitch & Putt on Galgorm’s Fun Golf Area.
